Important Considerations

  • Acclimatization

    It takes time for the body to adapt to altitude, so it's important to acclimate gradually when arriving at a higher elevation.

  • Training Intensity

    It's generally recommended to reduce training intensity in the first few days at altitude to allow the body to adjust.

  • Nutrition and Hydration

    Pay extra attention to hydration and ensuring adequate iron stores to support increased red blood cell production.

Detailed Itinerary

Kyanjin Gompa is a Buddhist monastery at 3870m with views of Langtang range

The marathon route follows alpine terrain, forests, and traditional Tamang villages

Start early from Kathmandu and head north through scenic foothills and terraced farmland. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, continue driving to Dobhan (if road conditions allow). From Dobhan, begin your short trek through rhododendron forests and along the Langtang River to reach Bamboo. A gentle first day to stretch your legs and adjust to the trail environment.

  • Duration: 7–8 hours Drive and 1.5–2 hours trek

  • Pickup Location: City Square Mall, Samakhusi Chowk at 5AM
Trek through beautiful forest trails and pass several small settlements like Rimche, Lama Hotel, and Ghodatabela. The trail climbs steadily as you ascend into higher altitudes. After Ghodatabela, enjoy views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks. Reach Langtang village, which was rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake, by late afternoon.

A shorter but beautiful day of trekking with increasing alpine scenery. The trail passes through meadows and yak pastures, and offers open views of the Langtang range. Upon reaching Kyanjin, explore the charming village and visit Kyanjin Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in the region.
